Ok so I’ve started this Project Fabulous…today is Day 13 of 120. (I still am working on creating some kind of countdown ticker for this….instructions welcome!) I’ve been trying to determine the best way to keep accountable without EVERY.SINGLE. POST being about Me..Me..ME! Because THAT would be a literary form of torture would it not? Sooo….my good idea for the day is that every Friday will now be “Fabulous Friday” with an update summary of what I’ve been doing all week. There might be posts other days detailing (AGAIN…I’m still trying to figure out if I can write this posts and have them all be on the Project Fabulous page but I can’t seem to figure this out!! WordPress gurus PLEASE HELP ME!)
So….anyone that knows me knows I like lists and charts. Maybe the teacher in me? But I don’t like plain lists with bullets…I like colorful and creative lists. And I am finding that I REALLY like being organized. It’s a s-l-o-w process because over the past several years I have become disgustingly DISorganized. I realize it takes baby steps so this week I referenced my organization task list and tackled THE CAR.
It was hard to really get pictures of JUST HOW MESSY my car looked. It was loaded with kids books, action figures, barrettes, receipts and bags and empty water bottles **embarrassed gasp** So after 2 plastic shopping bags FILLED (1 with just trash! and 1 with the kiddos stuff) I vacuumed – no regular vacuum I’m talking shop-vac , wiped down the leather, the console (HOW does it get so DUSTY???) and now I have a nice clean car…for now.
Did YOU create an organization task list? Are you following mine? What’s YOUR Project?
Tonight I spent 1/2 hour listening to both Bugs singing and talking together…in “Egyptian.” WHAT?!?! No…my children don’t REALLY know Egyptian but they seem to THINK they do. LoveBug has been fascinated with Egypt for over 2 years. She “created” this language that she SWEARS is Egyptian…and the Bug knows it too! It’s CRAZY WEIRD…and so AMAZINGLY COOL! They will have entire conversations and they seem to understand each other! And WHATEVER you do…don’t try to tell them that it’s not really Egyptian!

Two years ago (gosh was it THAT LONG AGO???) I hosted a Pampered Chef party for my friend Janell. We had so much fun that night…good food, good friends, laughter. At the end of the night Janell showed me this Pinterest thing. I didn’t see the big deal. I mean I remember her going ON and ON about how great it was…”just type something in – like chocolate- and all this great stuff will come up…recipes, projects, you name it.” It looked cool…it did…but not THAT cool. So Janell finished packing her things up, went home and I finished cleaning up from a fun night…then I turned on my computer and accepted the Pinterest invite that Janell had sent to me. I spent the next hour…ok maybe 2…searching, clicking, pinning onto my newly formed boards. I was hooked! Flash forward to the present: I’m now the one sending friends invites to Pinterest, Janell is sharing something new with everyone and is loving it, and I’m still totally addicted to Pinterest and now am trying to figure out how to use it as a social media tool for my business as well (THAT seems to be an elusive tool for me…) Are YOU a Pinterest addict? Post below so I can follow you…and click here to follow me!
Do you Pinterest? I go on to Pinterest less than I used to…and I actually USE what I pin more. Tonight I’m going to a PInterest party co-hosted by a good friend of mine. We were asked to bring something yummy to share, found on pinterest obviously.
I’m taking Pumpkin Pesto…I changed the recipe up a little bit. I used Butternut Squash infused oil in place of 1/2 of the called for olive oil. I also added cinnamon, nutmeg and a few crushed red pepper flakes. I would like if it was a bit brighter in color but yum does it tasted good! I sliced and toasted a multi-grain baguette to use as dippers and will also cut up some celery sticks for a low carb alternative (important for Project Fabulous.)
It was tough to choose what to take…I mean SO MANY choices! I can’t wait to see what everyone brings to share tonight. It should be a delicious girls night of fun. I also can not wait to see what craft/project we will be making…I’ll be sure to post a picture.
What are some of your favorite Pinterest crafts and foods? Have you ever hosted a Pinterest party? I’m thinking I need to plan my own! Want to come?
I’d like to think of myself as “creatively organized.” I’ve got all the resources, the ideas, the tools to be super uber organized. I teach other people how to organize all sorts of things in their lives. Key words are “other people…” MY organization is less…obviously organized. I’ve always said that I’m very right brained…I brainstorm with clouds and colors. No bullet points and black pens for me! That still works for me with some things but scattered piles of color*full…stuff…needs a little more structure.
I tried using electronic planners but they did.not.work.for.me. Too blah…too whatever. I like to see color and write with color and see things written out. Every day/week I add some features to my planner. This is what this week looks like in my current planner:
I have a column for my business, a column for Home Tasks (I’m keeping a numbered countdown for Project Fabulous), a column for Personal, for J, for Bug and for LoveBug. Everyone has their own colors too. This has been working ok for me but not perfectly. I have some ideas on how to make my planner work better for me – include more of the things I need to keep track of…. and I need to get REALLY ORGANIZED if I’m going to be fabulous!
The “total organization” is going to take more than just a day…more than just one project. So stay tuned for multiple organization projects and posts…I’ll document it all because there are bound to be major fails along the way. With 2 kiddos, a great dane puppy who is quickly outgrowing and getting into EVERYTHING and a husband who has lots of interests…there is a LOT of “stuff” to get organized in this house!
I’ll be working on this schedule if you’d like to accept the mission and join me:
Car Organization (might seem unnecessary but if you have kids who like to hoard things in the car you will TOTALLY understand the need for this one!)
Craft Room Organization
Laundry Room Organization
Living Room Organization

~Day 3/120 Project Fabulous (I’d really like to have a countdown ticker but can’t seem to get one to work right…anyone out there who would like to help? I’ll be forever thank*full and give you a special shout it too!)
Summer has ended…camper is closed. Now the laundry room is overflowing with laundry…seriously I can barely see the floor! So today was spent doing…yep you guessed it…LAUNDRY! In between loads though I managed to create my own special Project Fabulous organizing binder. Ok so I didn’t really NEED a special binder but its me and I really like binders and organizing. Anyway, special binder… I took a before picture as well as my measurements. Nothing like THAT to put things into perspective. AAAHH! If only I could channel Bewitched or I Dream of Jeannie and achieve my goals with a wiggle of my nose or a nod of my head!
Todays Steps: Completed my initial Fit Test (can’t wait until I can say THAT is EASY!), created meal plan for self and set up project notebook.
Well once you write it down it becomes real right? Well this is me…writing down the plan for Project Fabulous…making it real… Anyone want to join me in this adventure? Feel free…I’m sure I could use the company! Comment below, send me messages, post your own accomplishments.
So here I go…Making the changes to reach 40 fabulously! Easy peasy…right? I mean I do this for other people every day. Identify problems, challenges and create plans to incorporate healthy habits and personal routines to make goals reality. And since I’m positively convinced this is of utmost importance to everyone (insert very LARGE sarcastic grin here) I’m creating a public “project.” I’ll share the ups, downs, adventures, frustrations along the way. I’m hoping some of you will do the same because this could get very boring very fast! LOL The things I get myself into…
The Project: Celebrate 40 Fabulously!
The Plan: Make some changes, learn some new things and embrace fabulous in mind, body & spirit.
The Intentions: Get physically healthy & fit, get organized at home, reconnect and/or spend more time with friends and family, start using Pinterest instead of just “pinning,” and be fully present in life.
Baby steps…each day I’ll focus on at least one task. I’ll photo, document, share with all of you…you don’t have to start your own project…it’s ok I’ll do this on my own. (but if you WANTED to start your own project…if you WANTED to comment here and share…well I wouldn’t be UPSET or anything…LOL)
